You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: Camborne
Young man seeks a personal assistant to support him out in the community. He is a wheelchair user and has moderate learning difficulties and speech and language difficulties.
Support required:
· Shopping
· Access to the community – shopping, trips to the cinema, swimming, pub visits
· Occasional support with toileting
Hourly rate of pay: £14.72
Hours per week: 15
Working schedule:
Term time: weekends as and when required.
College holidays: any time as and when required – to be discussed.
Essential:
· Must be self-employed
· Public Liability Insurance
· Driving Licence
· Someone who is conscientious and reliable
Desirable:
· Wheelchair accessible vehicle for powerchair or large vehicle to carry a manual wheelchair
· Experience of supporting people with speech and language difficulties
· Experience of supporting wheelchair users/mobility support
