You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: Threemilsestone, Truro
A lovely gentleman in the Truro area, seeks support from a Personal Assistant (female preferred). This position is temporarily only for a few months to cover sick leave. This gentleman is a 60-year-old, proud Cornishman. He enjoys going shopping, and visiting local garden centers and has an immense passion for animals. He is also partial to going out for a delicious carvery. His work is really important to him, and he is a fiercely proud, self-advocate and supporter of his community, this being said he would really love for any applicants to have experience with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health.
Support required:
– Support to check use-by dates
– Support to go shopping, and put away shopping
– Support with meal planning, making healthy and balanced meals
– Support to prepare meals and to freeze them for this gentleman to defrost independently
– Support with exercise, improving health and wellbeing
– Support to manage bills and admin
– Support with domestic duties, cleaning surfaces, flooring, bathroom etc.
– Support with laundering clothes and bedding, support to identify when items need
replacing
– Support to make the bed and identify when the sheets need washing
– Support to use transport to commute to and from work commitments
– Support and prompting with personal care as and when needed
Rate and support hours:
Hourly rate of pay: £14.72
Hours per week: 14 hours a week
Schedule: To be agreed with the client but will need to be flexible
Essential criteria:
· Caring, honest, trustworthy nature
· Eligibility to work in the UK
. Public Liability Insurance
. Valid DBS Check
. Valid drivers license and access to your own car
. Experience with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health
. Female preferred
