You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: Calstock, Gunnislake
A friendly gentleman in Gunnislake, who enjoys visiting his local community cafes, beaches and train groups is looking for support from a Personal Assistant. Your role will be to support with this gentleman’s wellbeing by assisting him to access his community once per week. The role also involves carrying out daily welfare telephone calls, where you will be checking in, reporting any concerns to the gentleman’s immediate support team. Your support will include encouraging him to engage with his surroundings and supporting in moments that may feel overwhelming.
Support required:
· Support to access the community
· Support with wellbeing
· Understanding of mental health
· Assisting with paperwork
· Attending appointments
Rate and support hours:
Hourly rate of pay: £14.72
Hours per week: 5 hours per week
Schedule: 4-hour face-to-face visit one day per week, to be arranged with the client plus a daily 10-minute phone call to check on welfare.
6 x 10 minutes = 1 hour at hourly rate
