For new and aspiring RMs…
We are excited to announce the launch or our Registered Manager Development Programme (RMDP), in partnership with Smart Working Revolution Ltd. We will launch and deliver the programme to three cohorts of new or aspiring Registered Managers in the next 12 months, and best of all: It’s completely free to attend!
Here’s what you need to know:
Who is eligible?
Deputy Managers, Acting Registered Managers, or Registered Managers based in Cornwall who have been in their role for up to three years are eligible to attend this programme. The first cohort (starting on 30th April 2025) will focus on those providing home care, with future cohorts open to residential and nursing home care providers.
Why this programme?
We know Registered Managers are pivotal to the success of any care setting and perform an incredibly demanding role. We want to help prepare our aspiring or newly appointed managers to be as successful as they can be by investing in them to meet current and future demands on the care sector in Cornwall.

FAQs
How will it be delivered?
Each cohort will have 15 delegates and we will run three cohorts between April 2025 and March 2026.
The RMDP will be approximately 10 days in length which will be delivered over a period of 2-3 months, so as not to significantly disrupt your ability to carry out your role while you attend this course. All session dates will be given to you before the start of the programme to enable planning and commitment. Sessions will be delivered in mixed format of face-to-face, and online. It is essential that you attend every session if you are selected.
To ensure we build a network from day one, we are delivering each cohort in service delivery groups i.e Home Care, etc. Cohort 1 will be Home Care.
Will I get a qualification?
This is yet to be confirmed. We are aiming to have the programme accredited by a professional body which will result in a leadership/management qualification for those who complete the course.
I haven’t studied for a while/I’m not confident
There are no prior qualifications needed, and you will be supported by the facilitation staff and your peers, as well as the Proud to Care Cornwall team. We are delivering the programme to group who manage the same type of care provision to build that support network from day one.
Is there an assessment or exam?
No. The concept is designed as a series of masterclasses that enable delegates to leave with practical tools, knowledge, and skills to apply to their own workplace.
How do I apply?
Simply complete our online application form. This is a free programme, attendees will be selected randomly.
When can I apply?
Applications are open now and will close at midnight on Wednesday 16th April. You will find out if you have been successful approximately two weeks before the programme starts.
When does it start?
Cohort 1 will begin on 30th April 2025.
