As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their daily personal care needs and ensure their wellbeing, dignity, and comfort. You will work as part of a friendly, close-knit team in a home that values kindness, respect, and person-centred care.
Key responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, and bathing/showers
Support residents with food and fluids, ensuring dietary needs are met
Help residents with mobility, positioning, and daily routines
Observe and record changes in residents’ health, behaviour, and wellbeing, maintaining accurate documentation
Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support
Treat residents with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times
Work collaboratively with the team to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment
Requirements
A caring, patient, and respectful attitude
Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided
Willingness to undertake mandatory training and development
Good communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to promoting residents’ independence and wellbeing

A typical day
Working as a Care Assistant in our home is rewarding and varied. A typical day includes:
7:20 am – Handover: Start the day with a handover from the night team to receive updates on residents’ needs and care plans.
Morning Care: Assist residents with washing, dressing, and personal care, ensuring comfort and dignity.
Breakfast: Support residents with breakfast, helping with meals and fluids as needed.
Daytime Support: Assist residents to move to their preferred area for the day, supporting participation in activities or relaxation.
Mid-Morning / Afternoon Care: Help with comfort rounds, ensuring residents are comfortable, hydrated, and engaged.
Lunch: Assist with mealtimes, ensuring dietary needs are met and residents are supported.
Afternoon Tea / Activities: Support residents with drinks, snacks, and afternoon activities or social engagement.
Evening Care: Assist with tea, personal care, and preparing residents for bed, including washing, dressing, and settling for the night.

Throughout the day, you will observe residents’ wellbeing, document care accurately, and report any concerns to senior staff, ensuring each resident receives safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and assisting with mobility
Supporting residents with meals, fluids, and dietary needs
Assisting with daily routines and activities, promoting independence and engagement
Observing residents’ health, behaviour, and wellbeing, and promptly reporting any concerns to senior staff or management
Documenting care accurately and thoroughly in line with home procedures and regulatory standards
Ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
Maintaining dignity, respect, and privacy in all aspects of care
Working as part of a friendly, supportive team, collaborating with colleagues and other professionals
Following all policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control
