About the role

We specialise in supporting adults with a range of Learning disability, mental health and autism. We support them to live in their own properties, in their own communities: environments they know and trust. We provide practical support with prompting personal care, medication, social assistance and emotional support, to name but a few.
You will need to demonstrate positive Values and Behaviours in all interactions, raising awareness and improving practice in respect of Equality and Diversity and promotion of Human Rights within the workplace.

Role: We have recently released capacity for new staff to join our team in full time positions offering both day and night shifts.

Salary : £13.45 per hour

We are seeking to extend the capacity of our existing team by adding staff capacity to both our Day staff and waking night staff teams. Please note the waking night will be reviewed to convert to long term sleeps. This is an established existing skilled and knowledgeable team, where you will be working with one person within their own home. Shifts are 12 hours long: 7 days a week - with shifts being scheduled on a 2 week rota basis with weekends shared across the team. One week on, off and so on.

A typical day

You will be working as part of a dedicated team supporting a service user with complex needs to live an empowered, active and safe life within their own home. You will support empowerment, living well, maintaining their home environment and importantly actively supporting, encouraging and engaging them in their own communities. Having purpose and goals is important and all of our staff enjoy the varied aspects of a day. Like going to music festivals, the beach, help to attend volunteering, go food shopping etc etc..

You will work a 12hour shift with one person per day.

Key Responsibilities

Core Skills and Role Requirements:
• Adherence to CQC and Care Act 2014 guidelines, as well as following the Code of Conduct associated with each aspect of our regulated activities
• Working in collaboration with other team members, following instructions provided by management, provide feedback and knowledge informed guidance on complex situation and behaviour planning, whilst upholding the dignity, rights, independence and wellbeing of individuals.
• Be flexible within your role. This includes the occasional covering of night and weekend shift covers.
• Have a positive outlook.
• Be able to use your own initiative.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Undertake further professional training where required, to assist professional progression and keep up to date with current legislation.
• Attend team meetings and have input.
• Attend regular staff supervision and annual staff appraisals.
• Follow company policies and procedures and keep updated with any changes communicated.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Keep records and paperwork that are accurate and up to date on individual service users.
• Be polite and respectful to all service users no matter what a scenario holds, and ensuring dignity and privacy is respected.
• To follow and accept the guidelines of your employment contract.
• To take on board any other tasks that may be delegated by the managers.
• To cover if needed and if possible, any absence of fellow colleagues through staff sickness and staff holidays.
• To attend internal person-centred support plans and reviews meetings with other professional.
• To be a part of or report any safeguarding issues on service users to relevant agencies and managers.
• To respect and uphold confidentiality.
• Maintain effective communication with multi agencies and the rest of your team.
• To report immediately to the appropriate person, any concerns around wellbeing, illness, accidents, incidents or safety and follow guidelines appropriately.
• To be able to work as part of a team or where is it assessed as a safe to do so as a lone worker.
• A full driving licence, with access to your own insured vehicle is preferable due to location of home.
• Uphold a non-judgemental approach to care that promotes equality, diversity and inclusion.
