Care workers from overseas are a valued part of the workforce here in Cornwall. We have put together the following list of websites and resources to help you settle in and make links in your new community:
- South West Councils have published a guide to working in social care in the UK, and some links to key services including education, language support, health and transport.
- Inspiring Women Network offer support and friendship to women of all backgrounds. Their website has a Directory of Services in Cornwall that provides contact details for local services covering everything from health and wellbeing to community groups.
- SW ADASS have a Facebook page with lots of posts about life in the South West including useful links to all sorts of information, opportunities and advice.
- Justice & Care have published their Information and Guidance: For International Workers on Sponsorship in the Care Industry
- For help learning to drive in the UK, the East of England Strategic Migration Partnership have created some webinars and self-study modules on driving theory that are available to all international workers.
