These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *

Location: Rural outskirts of Four Lanes

22-year-old young man with Down Syndrome who loves dancing, sport, swimming, kayaking, and going to the beach plus colouring/art, Lego, music, playing board games and cooking seeks an enthusiastic, kind and fun-loving Buddy/Personal Assistant to be part of his fun-loving team.

Support:

 

·       Support with daily living tasks – housework, shopping, cooking, managing calendar

·       Driving to and supporting with his voluntary jobs

·       Plan and accompany on fun days out with friends and family

 

Hourly rate of pay: £12 (employed) or £14.72 (self-employed) + generous mileage

Hours per week: Part time – 8+ hours

Working schedule: Hours and days worked can be totally flexible and mutually agreed.

Position initially for the college holidays as the young man is away at a residential college during the term times.

This role has the potential to be full time and permanent when he finally returns home to live.

Essential:

·       Driving licence and own vehicle

·       Willingness to learn

·       Valid DBS

·       Good sense of humour

·       Excellent listening skills

·       Confident in the kitchen

·       Confident in and around water

 

Start date: 20th July
