You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: St Austell
Young lady seeks a friend to support her whilst out in the community. She is an art student studying Graphic Design and likes to be independent. She has cerebral palsy and is a part-time wheelchair user. She also has difficulty with her speech and experiences fatigue.
Support required:
· Support with accessing the community
Hourly rate of pay: £15
Hours per week: 2
Working schedule:
2 hours per week with some flexibility (8 hours per month).
One afternoon on a weekday.
Essential:
· Valid DBS
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· Public Liability Insurance
· Must be self-employed
· Patience and empathy
· Flexibility
· Training in Manual Handling
Desirable:
· Previous experience in a support role
· Experience supporting people with physical disabilities
