You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: St Columb
Lady seeks a personal assistant to support her at home. She is mainly bed bound with fatigue due to M.E or Chronic Fatigue.
Support required:
· Preparing meals and carrying meal tray up and down stairs
· Companionship
· Light household duties
Hourly rate of pay: £17.50
Hours per week: 8 – 12 – hours may increase over time
Working schedule:
2 x 4 – 6 hours each week. Preferrable 10am – 2/4pm, one weekday and one weekend day if possible.
Essential:
· Valid DBS
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· Public Liability Insurance
· Must be self-employed
· Someone with a calm and gentle demeanour
· Patience and empathy
· Non-smoker
· No perfume due to allergies
· Willingness to learn basic cooking skills on an Aga cooker
· Someone dependable and honest
Desirable:
· An understanding of M.E/CFS
· Driving Licence with own vehicle – not required however location would otherwise require public transport as well as a slight walk to the home
· Flexibility
· Appreciation of OCD
· Ability to occupy self when not actively needed
