Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity. We have been making a difference for 35+ years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.
At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.
An understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS) and leading PBS in practice would be an advantage, although not essential because we can develop these skills and experience with the right person who has the attitude and aptitude to learn and deliver at this level.
About the Role
You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice. You will lead the principles of “nothing about me without me”, ensuring the supported person’s voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review.

About Miss C.
‘’Hello my cockers, my name is Colleen, I am 72 with the heart of a 40-year-old. I live in Newquay. There is an exciting opportunity for you to join and lead my team – this doesn’t happen very often.
If you love going out for dinner, watching surfers while sipping on a hot chocolate or generally spending your day going out and about, although I do enjoy relaxing evenings, then come work with me.
A love of music and the theatre would be fabulous, as would watching Strictly once the evenings start drawing in, as these are right up my street, or as I say “Lovely”!
I like to go to slimming world – but you need to help me keep on track!
I like going to Young at Heart on Thursdays and a Healthy Me group on Fridays.
I enjoy Gateway on a Friday evening and go with my partner (and staff).
I love to meet with friends and family and chat on the phone lots too.
I go to a day centre twice a week.
I’m very capable and do lots around my house but am always happy for staff to muck in and at times take over, so I can have a cheeky rest!
I’m very house proud and love my home, so I do need support to keep it looking nice.
I’m the best cooker in the world, but again am happy for staff to give me a night off
I do need reminders of appointments and you will need to support me to get to them. I need support with shopping, medication and getting around, but am fiercely independent, so will tell you “I can do it me’self”!
I’m fun to be around and like to chat nonstop, so if you think you can keep up with me, then please apply for this job!
Applicants will be reviewed by my registered manager, but I will make the final decision on who joins my team.’’
As Practice Leader for this service, you will work with the Registered Manager to role model outstanding support whilst also undertaking duties such as Rota planning, appraisals & supervisions, risk assessments, support planning and coordinating the regular training of your team.
