Your privacy is important to Proud to Care Cornwall and we take great care to protect it. When you visit our website we will only use your personal data as stated within our privacy policy below.
Cornwall Council is the data controller (on behalf of Proud to Care Cornwall) for the purposes of the Data Protection Act and other regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), which means it determines what your data is used for and why it is collected.
Personal information and data is collected on the Proud to Care Cornwall website when:
- Individuals visit the website and have given their clear consent – all websites do this using Cookies. There is a separate policy for this.
- Care and Health employers fill in a form to submit a company profile or job vacancy (including apprenticeships, work experience and volunteering) which includes details of the vacancy but may also include an individual’s name and contact details.
- Individuals visiting the site choose to apply for an advertised vacancy or submit a query to one of the employers listed on the website. The information submitted will include name and contact details and may also include other information contained in a CV.
Recruiting employers
- We use the information you submit when registering to set up your user account.
- You determine the information to include in a company profile and in job vacancy advertisements.
- The length of time a job vacancy is visible is determined by you as the recruiting employer.
- We may also use your information in some analysis of how the project is working.
- From time to time we may include you in our marketing activities or share information with the close partners we work with, especially on employment and skills projects. We will ask for your permission prior to doing this.
- Cornwall Council reserves the right to decline company registrations or to edit or unpublish any job vacancy at any time.

The Proud to Care Cornwall website contains webforms which are used for the following purposes:
Recruiting Employers
- To sign-up to use the website and receive login details.
- To submit a company profile.
- To submit job vacancies .
When you enter your details on the sign-up form, an email is sent directly to a Cornwall Council email address to notify us that this sign-up request has been submitted for approval.
Any data you submit on this form will be used solely by Proud to Care Cornwall and/or Cornwall Council to confirm your sign-up or to contact you in relation to the use of the website
Any information contained within job vacancy notices is publicly available and you are advised not to include any sensitive personal information or sensitive health information within these adverts. This is particularly relevant for Personal Assistant vacancies from which an individual may be identifiable.

Individual Job Seekers
The Proud to Care Cornwall website contains forms which will enable you to apply for vacancies direct through the website and/or to contact an employer with a query.
- When applying for a job direct the details you enter and any document you upload will stored on the website and the recruiting employer will receive notification that you have applied. You will also receive notification of this.
The recruiting employer will be able to view your details and respond directly to you using the contact details you provide.
The Proud to Care team at Cornwall Council will also be able to access this information which will be used primarily for quality and analytic purposes. The data will also be used to enable the Proud to Care team at Cornwall Council to contact you and discuss alternative vacancies. You will be able to opt out of this if you wish.
- When you contact an employer with a query, the details you enter and any document you upload will be stored on the website and the recruiting employer will receive notification of your contact. They will respond direct to you using the contact information you provide.
- As the website enables you to upload and send documents to employers you are reminded to consider the information contained in these documents and not to include any sensitive personal information.
The information provided by individuals will be retained on the website for a period of 12 months.

Job Alerts and Newsletter Subscription
When visitors sign up for job alerts or subscribe to our newsletter through our website, we collect and store their email addresses. We use Mailchimp, a third-party service, to manage and send these communications.
