About the role

The Old Roselyon Manor Nursing home are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic RGN who is able to lead, coordinate and support the well established nursing team in the provision of care for residents who are (but not limited to) End Of Life, palliative, complex, and respite.

Our resident's care is organised around their individual identified needs through collaborative working alongside the resident, family and friends, the local GP’s, frailty team, and other community based professionals, resulting in the delivery of excellent care, which is at the heart of the ethos of The Home.

Main duties

The post of Clinical Lead Nurse is for an experienced and qualified Registered Nurse who has advanced experience including clinical and leadership skills.

You will be expected to coordinate complex care and the assessment and management of long term conditions.
You will be responsible for coordinating potential admissions with the manager, and admitting and careplanning for those who come into our care.
You will be responsible for the ordering of all medication and monthly audits. We currently use a digital platform for this.
Supporting the nurse in charge on shift with med round, diary management, phone calls, clinical duties (catheterisation, bloods, syringe driver)
Producing the monthly off duty for nurses.
Covering nurse sickness/ annual leave
Supporting at weekends
The successful candidate will also be responsible for nurse management, appraisals, supervision and development.

As their Lead and mentor, you will take the lead in the development and supervision, also ensuring training is valid and up to date, and PINs are current.

The focus of this role is to provide safe, effective and quality clinical care using advanced qualifications to support clinical practice along with strong clinical leadership, advice and support to the team.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential in order to effectively liaise with staff, management, and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team as well as an ability to reflect upon and where needed challenge the status quo.

Support and assistance with inspections including CQC, Quality Assurance, safeguarding etc.

We are a family owned and run, independent nursing home in the heart of Cornwall. Registered for 30 beds, we currently operate at a maximum of 26, due to single occupancy rooms.

Training and Development:

Full training provided including syringe driver, palliative care, catheter care, wound management, verification of death, and optional bloods training.
Online mandatory training required.
Six-month probation period with ongoing support.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week

The Old Roselyon Manor Nursing home and domiciliary care agency are well established in the area of Par.

The Nursing home has 30 registered beds, full-time nursing for the elderly, palliative and EOL care.

We also provide respite, form a week onwards, and day care.

The Domiciliary care agency provides care to the elderly within their own homes, supporting with independence whilst staying person centred. we cover the following areas – Par, Fowey, Carlyon Bay, Tywardreath, tregrehan, st austell, lostwitihel.
