What is the role of a Health Advocate?
Health Advocates play an important role in helping to create a healthy, supportive, and informed workplace culture across Adult Social Care. The role is designed to be simple, flexible, and easy to fit alongside your existing responsibilities, with no expectation to take on additional workload or deliver health and wellbeing activities yourself.
As a Health Advocate, your primary role is to act as a positive voice for health and wellbeing by simply sharing information.
The Health Advocate role is based on the principle that small, consistent actions can make a big difference. By helping colleagues access trusted information and encouraging conversations about wellbeing, you can contribute to a culture where people feel supported to take a proactive and preventative approach to their health.
By sharing resources and wellbeing messages as part of everyday communication with your team, you can help foster a healthier workplace without taking on significant additional responsibilities. Together, Health Advocates can help create an environment where health and wellbeing are valued, discussed openly, and supported across the organisation.
