Being Nutritionally Aware

Being nutritionally aware means understanding how food and drink choices can affect your health, wellbeing, energy levels, and ability to perform effectively in your role.  Good nutrition plays an important part in supporting physically and emotionally demanding environments, resilience, concentration, recovery, and overall wellbeing.

Nutritional awareness is not about following a perfect diet.

It is about making informed choices that help maintain energy throughout shifts, support physical and mental health, and promote long-term wellbeing.

This includes understanding the importance of regular meals, hydration, balanced nutrition, and the impact that food can have on mood, sleep, and daily performance.

Taking a proactive and preventative approach to nutrition can help support health both in and outside of work.

It is about small, sustainable changes that contribute to improved wellbeing, helping you feel better equipped to meet the demands of your role while supporting your short, medium, and long-term health.
