Physical Activity and Movement

Working in care can be physically and mentally demanding, making it even more important to prioritise regular movement and physical activity.

Being active can improve:

  • Energy levels
  • Reduce stress
  • Support mental wellbeing
  • Improve sleep
  • Lower the risk of developing a range of long-term health conditions.

The good news is that you do not need to spend hours exercising to benefit.

Small changes, such as taking a brisk walk, using the stairs, stretching between visits, or breaking up long periods of sitting, can all contribute to better health.
