“After stepping up from Deputy Manager to Manager of a brand-new service, Charlotte embraced the role with a hands-on, passionate approach, determined to make a difference from day one. Her focus has always been on empowering each service user, creating a space where every individual feels heard, respected, and supported to thrive. As a role model to her team, Charlotte leads by example, promoting a culture of compassion, consistency, and creativity.
In just six months, she has introduced innovative and person-centred practices that have transformed the lives of those supported. By using the Active Support model, Charlotte has helped make the service as least restrictive as possible, supporting individuals to build confidence, independence, and real choice in their daily lives.
One of the most powerful successes has been with a lady who came to the service after receiving notice from her previous placement. Through consistent routines, tailored support, and empowering communication, Charlotte has helped her experience drastic reductions in challenging behaviours. Today, she is happier, more engaged, and flourishing in an environment where she feels safe and valued.
This same approach has already seen life-changing progress for four other individuals in the service. Through creativity, commitment, and a strong values-driven culture, Charlotte is breaking down barriers and proving what’s possible – even within such a short time since opening.
