About Kerrier Homecare Ltd
All staff are supported by our experienced team leaders and managers to ensure that the highest possible standards of care are met whilst assisting individuals with all aspects of daily living tasks, accessing communities, meeting personal care needs, and promoting independence.
Experience is not essential as our aim is to recruit based on an individual’s values matching our service and organisation. We offer full training where required, but applicants do need a driving license and own vehicle.
About the role
Duties will include:
Assisting clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Supporting clients with mobility, helping them move safely around their home or care facility.
Preparing and assisting with meals according to care plans, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
Administering medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Maintaining accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Engaging clients in social activities and to provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Skills required include:
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Experience in a care home or home care environment is highly desirable but not essential.
Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
A valid full UK driving licence for driving to and from client premises and for transporting clients when necessary.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude towards providing personal care services.

At Kerrier Homecare, our care assistants are the heart of our service—bringing compassion, dignity, and independence to people in their own homes across Cornwall.
🌅 Morning Visits (7:00 AM – 10:00 AM)
Start your day with a smile and a check-in via our care app.
Support clients with personal care routines: washing, dressing, and medication.
Prepare breakfast and ensure clients are safe and comfortable.
☀️ Midday Support (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Help with light household tasks and lunch preparation.
Encourage independence while assisting with mobility and daily activities.
🌤 Afternoon Care (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Continue scheduled visits with warmth and professionalism.
Monitor wellbeing and report any concerns to the office.
Support clients with errands or appointments when needed.
🌙 Evening Visits (5:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Prepare evening meals and assist with bedtime routines.
Administer or prompt evening medications.
Ensure clients are settled, safe, and secure for the night.

Key Responsibilities
🏠 Personal Care & Support
Assist clients with washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
Support with mobility, including use of walking aids or hoists.
Help with continence care and maintaining personal hygiene.
💊 Medication Assistance
Prompt or administer prescribed medications in line with care plans.
Record medication given and report any concerns to the office.
🍽 Meal Preparation & Nutrition
Prepare and serve meals and drinks according to dietary needs.
Support clients with feeding if required.
Encourage hydration and monitor food intake.
🧹 Domestic Duties
Carry out light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying.
Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
🗣 Companionship & Emotional Support
Provide friendly conversation and reassurance.
Support clients with hobbies, routines, and social interaction.
📝 Record Keeping & Communication
Accurately document care provided using our digital care system.
Report changes in health, mood, or environment to the office.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
🚗 Travel & Time Management
Travel between client homes across Redruth and surrounding areas.
Manage time efficiently to meet scheduled visits.
✅ Safeguarding & Professional Conduct
Follow all safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold Kerrier Homecare’s values.
Attend training and team meetings as required.
