Karlyon Care Ltd is looking for two experienced and compassionate Team Leaders to join our team at St Minver House, a welcoming 37-bed residential care home supporting older people, including residents living with dementia.

We are looking for people who are passionate about providing excellent care and who have the confidence and experience to lead and support a team.

A typical day

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

As a Team Leader at St Minver House, no two days are quite the same. You’ll play an important role in supporting our residents, our care team and the smooth running of the home.

Your day could include:

❀️ Providing hands-on care – Working alongside the care team and providing direct, person-centred care to our residents when needed.

πŸ’Š Medication administration – Safely administering medication, completing the required records and ensuring medication procedures are followed.

πŸ‘₯ Leading the team – Supporting, guiding and motivating care staff throughout the shift, ensuring residents receive high-quality care and that the team works effectively together.

🀝 Liaising with professionals – Communicating with GPs, district nurses, pharmacists, social workers and other healthcare professionals to ensure residents’ needs are understood and appropriately supported.

πŸ“‹ Supporting the Manager – Assisting with audits, checks, care documentation and other quality and compliance tasks to help maintain the high standards of the home.

πŸ“¦ Managing stock levels – Monitoring medication and care-related stock, placing orders where required and ensuring essential supplies are available.

Key Responsibilities

As a Team Leader at St Minver House, you’ll have an important role in ensuring our residents receive consistently high-quality, safe and person-centred care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

πŸ‘₯ Leading and supporting the care team – Providing guidance, direction and support to staff throughout the shift, promoting teamwork and leading by example.
❀️ Maintaining high standards of care – Ensuring residents receive compassionate, dignified and person-centred care at all times.
πŸ’Š Medication management – Safely administering medication and ensuring all medication procedures and records are completed accurately.
πŸ“‹ Medication audits – Carrying out regular medication checks and audits, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
πŸ”„ Monthly medication changeover – Coordinating the monthly medication cycle, checking new medication deliveries and ensuring medication records are accurate and up to date.
πŸ“¦ Ordering stock – Monitoring stock levels and ordering medication, continence products and other essential care supplies as required.
πŸ”Ž Regular stock checks – Completing routine stock checks to ensure supplies are available, appropriately stored and within required dates.
πŸ“Š Supporting audits and quality checks – Working alongside the Home Manager to complete audits and maintain high standards of compliance and quality.
🀝 Liaising with external professionals – Communicating effectively with GPs, district nurses, pharmacists, social workers and other healthcare professionals regarding residents’ needs.
πŸ“ Care documentation – Ensuring care records, medication records and other documentation are completed accurately and maintained to a high standard.
