A typical day
A typical day as a carer with APRA Care in East Cornwall is both rewarding and fulfilling, offering the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. Your day usually begins by checking your rota and travelling to visit clients in their own homes across areas such as Liskeard, Saltash, Launceston, and nearby villages. Each visit is unique — you might start the morning by helping someone get ready for the day, assisting with personal care, preparing breakfast, and ensuring they take their prescribed medication. Midday visits could involve supporting clients with meal preparation, mobility, or companionship, while afternoon calls might include light household tasks, welfare checks, or simply spending time chatting to reduce loneliness. Throughout the day, you’ll record care notes, observe any changes in clients’ wellbeing, and communicate with the APRA Care team to ensure consistent, high-quality support. Working in East Cornwall means being part of a compassionate local team dedicated to helping individuals remain independent, comfortable, and connected within their own communities.
