What we offer our staff
A typical day
A typical day for a Support Worker at APRA Care is varied, rewarding, and centred around the needs of the individuals you support. Your day may start by helping individuals with their morning routines, such as personal care, getting dressed, preparing breakfast, and planning their day. You will offer encouragement and emotional support, helping them build confidence and independence.
Throughout the day, you may support individuals to attend appointments, go shopping, take part in community activities, or enjoy hobbies and social time. You will assist with practical tasks such as meal preparation, light household duties, and managing daily routines, always encouraging individuals to do as much as they can for themselves.
You will also spend time listening, chatting, and building positive relationships, ensuring each person feels respected, valued, and safe. At the end of your shift, you will update records, communicate with colleagues, and ensure a smooth handover so that care remains consistent and person-centred.
