About the role

Registered Nurse – Nursing Home

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our friendly and professional team at our nursing home. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.

Requirements:

Current registration with NMC as a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience in a nursing home or elderly care setting is desirable but not essential.

A typical day

Days -; There are 2 other nurses on duty plus the Clinical Lead providing support and guidance.
The Clinical Lead attends the handover. Each nurse is assigned to a wing. Team leader (s) oversee and coordinates the health care assistants and liaise with the nurses on duty.
After medication round, once a week, the GP ward round.
Tasks in the diary must be actioned.
Care plans and risk assessment reviews if due.
Medication management/ order and checked.
Dressings and update health issues
PEG/PEGJ management
Lead HCAs assigned to your wing
update handover.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Provide and oversee the delivery of safe and effective nursing care.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Monitor residents; health and wellbeing, responding appropriately to any changes in their condition.
Develop and maintain individualised care plans.
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
Support and mentor care staff to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.

Beech Lawn Nursing Home is located in the heart of Liskeard, walking distance to the historic town. Beech Lawn is a family run nursing home of 42 residents. We champion quality care and have opportunities to welcome motivated and compassionate people to join our dedicated team in supporting our residents to live a good quality of life. We specialise in palliative care and other acute nursing care.
