About the role

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is looking for a kind, patient and dependable Female Live-in Care Assistant to support a younger gentleman in his own home in St Erth.

This is a live-in role on a rolling 2 weeks on / 1 week off rota, providing consistent one-to-one support so he can continue living safely, comfortably and independently at home.

You’ll support with daily routines, personal care, companionship, practical help around the home, and getting out into the community. There may also be some occasional unsociable hours, so a flexible and calm approach is important.

This is an employed role with Bluebird Care, not self-employed, so you’ll be part of a supportive local team. The advertised role is £125 per day, with full paid training provided.

Due to the nature of this role, this is a female-only position due to an occupational requirement.

A typical day

A typical day may start by helping the customer with their morning routine, personal care and getting ready for the day.

You may then support with breakfast, household tasks, companionship, or helping him plan the day ahead. As this role supports a younger gentleman, getting out into the community is an important part of the role, so you may help him attend appointments, enjoy social time, or take part in activities outside the home.

Throughout the day, you’ll offer practical support, reassurance and encouragement while helping him stay as independent as possible. There will be clearly defined working time, downtime and regular breaks as part of the live-in arrangement.
