About the role

As a Care Assistant with Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall, you will support customers in their own homes, helping them remain safe, comfortable and independent in the place they know best.







Home Care is about more than completing tasks. It is about building trust, respecting routines and supporting people to continue living the life they want.







You will visit customers across Mid & West Cornwall as part of a structured rota that includes days, evenings and alternate weekends.







Your role may include helping with personal care, preparing meals, supporting daily routines and offering companionship. Over time you will become a familiar and reassuring presence in the lives of the people you support.







This role suits someone who is compassionate, reliable and takes pride in delivering high standards of care.







Important Information Before Applying







Due to the nature of this role:



Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence



Applicants must have access to their own reliable vehicle



This role involves travelling between customers’ homes across Mid & West Cornwall



We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position

Increasing to £13.46 – £13.66 Bank holidays £19.58 per hour from 1st April 2026

A typical day

No two days are exactly the same in Home Care, but a typical shift may include:

Visiting several customers in their homes across your local area

Helping someone start their day with personal care and breakfast

Supporting a customer with medication reminders or preparing lunch

Spending time providing companionship and conversation

Assisting with light household tasks to keep the home safe and comfortable

Helping someone settle for the evening with their routine and dinner

Each visit is an opportunity to provide reassurance, support independence and make a meaningful difference to someone’s day.

Key Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

Supporting customers with personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming
Assisting with daily routines to help customers remain independent
Preparing meals and drinks
Providing companionship and emotional support
Helping with light household tasks such as tidying or laundry
Supporting customers to remain safe and comfortable at home
Following individual care plans and reporting any concerns to the office team
Building trusting relationships with customers and their families
