About Alexandras Community Care

At Alexandras Community Care, we pride ourselves on providing expert, person centre care to allow people to remain safe and supported in their own homes.

We are looking for individuals to join our team who are kind, compassionate and are looking to give back to the community. With 5 offices across Mid and West Cornwall (Penzance, Redruth, Truro, Penryn and St Austel) we welcome those just starting out in their career as well as those who have already developed a successful career.

We are looking for hard working carers who are able to work as part of team to ensure our clients are safe and cared for.

About the role

As a Live-In Carer, you’ll live in a client’s home and provide round-the-clock support. You’ll play a vital role in helping people maintain their independence and dignity, in the comfort of their own home.

Assisting with personal care: washing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and continence support.
Supporting medication administration and monitoring health changes.
Helping with nutrition: preparing meals, feeding support, hydration, and mealtime companionship.
Using equipment such as hoists to support independence and safety.
Promoting both physical and mental well-being through activities and companionship.
Daily Living & Housekeeping

Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe environment: housework, laundry, bed changes.
Preparing meals and snacks, setting the table or tray, and cleaning up.
Shopping and managing small errands or administrative tasks.
Greeting visitors with courtesy and professionalism, respecting the client’s home.
Relationships & Communication

Building strong, supportive and respectful relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
Acting as a liaison with the client’s family, healthcare professionals and River Exe Healthcare management.
Escalating any concerns promptly and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
Supporting the client’s spiritual, emotional and social needs, encouraging hobbies, friendships, and community connection.
