About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a kind and understanding Personal Assistant to support a lady living in Falmouth to maintain her independence and enjoy activities in the local community.
Schedule - 1 hour per week (potential to increase) Flexible – between 11am and 5pm any day.
She values calm, kind and emotionally aware people and enjoys nature, animals, walking, nutrition, good conversation and exploring great local places in Cornwall. She also loves fashion, interior design and art, so it would be great if you had similar interests.
The lady is neurodivergent and lives with PTSD and developmental trauma. She lives a relatively normal life, but would appreciate supportive company to go for a walk, have a coffee, visit Cornish places, access local activities, groups or services, or simply have a supportive conversation.
Due to an accident, sometimes her back goes into a severe spasm, which can temporarily affect her mobility. During these periods, she may need short-term practical daily support until it settles. This would include food preparation, grocery shopping, assistance with washing and dressing, and general support while her mobility is limited. It would be great to have a PA who could accommodate this, if needed.

The PA Collective connects people in Cornwall with meaningful, flexible work that empowers others to live with choice, control, and dignity. We’re building a movement where people support people — creating a local network of Personal Assistants (PAs) who make a real difference in everyday lives.
💼 Work that works for you
We believe work should fit your life, not the other way around. Whether you’re looking for stability, flexibility, or a combination of both, there’s a place for you in The PA Collective.
Our opportunities include:
* Permanent roles – for consistency and long-term relationships
* Bank work – for flexible, ad hoc shifts (day, night, or weekends)
* Self-employed PA registration – join our network once you’ve completed our simple vetting process
* Paid employment with full support – including training, DBS checks, onboarding, and workflow tools
* Personal Assistants registered with us also get early access to new opportunities before they’re advertised online.
🕊️ Bank Roles
Be there when it matters most.
Our bank PAs step in during key moments, from hospital discharges to sudden changes at home, offering timely, compassionate support that helps people stay independent.
This may include:
* Supporting someone to settle back home after hospital
* Providing companionship or respite for carers
* Helping with shopping, cleaning, or pet care
* Assisting with admin or appointments
Visits can range from one hour to overnight, perfect for people wanting to top up income on their own terms. There’s no pressure or obligation to take shifts; you choose what suits you.
🌻 Permanent Roles
Make a lasting difference.
Our permanent Personal Assistants work with individuals living with long-term health conditions or disabilities to live independently and fully.
Support can include:
* Assisting with education, work, or hobbies
* Helping to run a household
* Providing personal care (e.g. bathing, toileting)
Every role is tailored around the person’s needs, interests, and preferences — creating genuine, lasting connections. Roles range from just a few hours per week to full-time positions.
⚖️ Bank + Permanent Roles
The best of both worlds.
Combine a stable, ongoing role with the flexibility of occasional bank shifts. You’ll enjoy reliable income and the freedom to take on extra hours when it suits you.
This might look like:
* A regular role with someone you support each week
* Extra hours helping others during hospital discharge or holiday cover
* Building trusted relationships while keeping variety in your work
It’s a balanced, flexible way to make a difference, and build the career you want.
