About the role

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is seeking experienced and compassionate Children’s Support Workers to deliver high-quality, one-to-one care to children with complex needs. You’ll be working in family homes and community settings, providing personalised support that helps each child feel safe, included, and empowered.

A typical day

Deliver person-centred care, including personal care (e.g. washing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
Support children with physical, sensory, behavioural, and medical needs
Help with daily routines: school runs, mealtimes, bedtime
Encourage communication, independence, and confidence
Support community outings and social interaction
Follow detailed care plans and record accurate notes
Work in partnership with families, schools, and healthcare teams

Other essentials

Key Responsibilities

Experience working with children (care, education, support, or health settings)
Confidence and compassion in providing personal care
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Flexible availability (some evenings and weekends required)
Calm, respectful, and child-focused attitude
Experience in complex or additional needs is a bonus
