About the role

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. That rating belongs to our team, and we are looking for a Homecare Team Leader to help us keep raising the bar.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will still deliver care yourself, so you know exactly what your team faces each day. Alongside that, you will lead, support and develop a team of Support Workers and work closely with your Area Manager.

You will:

• Lead, supervise and support a team of Support Workers

• Carry out inductions, training, supervisions and appraisals

• Complete customer assessments and risk assessments, and write and update care plans

• Match Support Workers to customers, and introduce new team members at first calls

• Carry out spot checks, quality checks and customer reviews

• Check MAR and eMAR charts so medication records are accurate

• Make sure accidents and incidents are recorded and acted on

• Deliver high-quality personal care that respects each customer's choices, dignity and privacy

Good care depends on good leadership. In this role, you will shape the care our customers receive every day, and help your team feel valued, confident and proud of their work.

A typical day

A typical day

No two days are the same. You might start with a morning of care calls, then head out to carry out an assessment for a new customer and write their care plan. In the afternoon you could complete a spot check, sit down with a Support Worker for their supervision, and check medication charts. Whatever the day brings, you are the person your team turns to, and the person who makes sure our customers get the care they deserve.
